NSW Farmers Association members

If you are a NSW Farmers Association member, we urgently need you to oppose the proposed Energy-from-Waste incinerator in our region. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: Email Rawson Leach at leach.forbes@gmail.com and CC Caron Chester at chesterc@nswfarmers.org.au before MAY 9 to get a motion submitted to the NSW Farmers Annual Conference. SUGGESTED EMAIL – COPY & SEND: Subject: Motion Opposing Energy from Waste Incinerator Dear Rawson, As a member of NSW Farmers, I wish to formally object to the proposed Energy from Waste incinerator. This type of development poses a serious hazard to pastoral and agricultural land, and I support the existing NSW Farmers policy which states:
  • That the Association seek that no high temperature incinerator be located anywhere in pastoral, agricultural or inhabited land in Australia until the EIS process being undertaken has shown that high temperature incineration is the best available technology and that it imposes no environmental hazards.
  • That the Association request the Government to reinstate funds for further research and the development of alternative technology for the safe destruction of toxic waste on site where produced.
Please include this objection as a motion for the Annual Conference.
